Right click on each of your vector layers and convert them to raster.

Let's add some detail to our bench:

Right click on your left back leg layer and duplicate it. With your new layer active add a drop shadow using the following settings:

Make your "bench back" layer active and using your Magic Wand, click on a blank area of your canvas.

Expand your selection by 2 pixels.

Make your "copy of left back leg" layer active and hit delete. This will leave just the drop shadow that shows on the bench back.

Repeat this for the "right back leg", changing the vertical and horizontal offsets to -2 for your drop shadow.

Save your image (Ctrl+S)

Change your foreground to #7A5124 and your background to the fill pattern you saved earlier.

Add a new vector layer and name it "details". (Layers/New Vector Layer)

Click on your preset shapes and choose rectangle. Draw a rectangle approximately 20 pixels wide by 6 pixels high. Exact size isn't important, since we will be changing the size through node editing.

Click on your Object Selector Tool and choose Node Edit. Using the same method we used earlier change all four nodes to Symmetric, then Cusp. Notice how we ended up with a nice ellipse? I like this method for smaller objects:

We will be copying this shape and pasting it as a new vector selection (the same way we did for our slats) several times to add detail to our bench legs, using the following
method:
1. Click on your Object Selectors Tool
2. Right click on your rectangle/ellipse
3. Choose Copy from the menu
4. Right click on your canvas and choose Paste New Vector Selection
5. Move your cursor the the desired position (see below) and left click with your mouse to place the new selection.

I copied and pasted a total of 8 new rectangles. The screen shot below shows the placement. Notice I only placed the rectangles on the left side of the bench? We can make all the adjustments to one side and then copy and mirror this layer for the right side
of our bench! I reduced the opacity on all other layers and added a white background for better visibility:

Zoom in on your image and adjust your shapes. You need to adjust the width so they are just slightly wider than the section of the leg/bar you are placing them over. We want them placed on the narrow parts of the legs, just below the top and just above the bottom of the
front leg, and across the bottom bar. You will need to rotate the shape you place on your bar:

Once you're happy with your details, right click on your original rectangle and choose Cut to delete it.

Convert this layer to raster. Duplicate this layer and mirror the new layer. (Image/Mirror) You may need to make a slight adjustment to this new layer. Use you Mover Tool if necessary.:

Save your image (Ctrl+S)

Turn off the visibility for all but your "details" and "copy of details" layers, then merge visible.

Tip: We have so many layers that the easiest way to do this is to right click on your "details" layer and choose View/Current Only; then click on your "copy of details" layer to turn on the visibility for that layer also. Saves all that clicking on those eyeglasses!

Rename your merged layer "details".

Right click on your "details" layer and choose View/All.

With your "details" layer active apply an inner bevel. I chose the Soft Edge preset and then changed the bevel to the quarter round:

Now add a drop shadow:

Apply a drop shadow again, changing your vertical offset to: -1.

Add a new raster layer and name it "details2".

Your foreground color should still be #7A5124. Change your background to null.

Click on your Paintbrush Tool and use the following settings:

Zoom in on your image and add some details to the left arm, then repeat for the right arm:

Save your image (Ctrl+S)

Make your "bench back" layer active. Choose the colors/pattern you'd like for the heart on the back of your bench.

Click on your Preset Shapes Tool and choose the heart shape; Vector and Antialias both checked; and draw out a heart on the back of your bench. (Checking Vector places your heart on it's own layer and makes it much easier to adjust/move your heart.)

Add some dingbats on either side of your heart to dress it up, if you'd like:

Save your image (Ctrl+S)

Almost done.....
