Last page...yeah!!!
Before we merge our layers, let's take a good look at our bench.
If you see anything that doesn't look right, you can change it now
since everything is on it's own layer.
I decided to raise my bench so that it didn't meet up with the detail work on my legs. Click on your Mover Tool and drag each
of your bench layers up, as shown below:
Let's add a pad to our bench.
Make your "bench" layer active. Add a new vector layer (Layers/New Vector Layer) and name it "bench pad".
Change your background to a pattern of your choice and foreground to a dark color which compliments your pattern.
Click on your Preset Shapes Tool and choose the rounded rectangle;
Vector and Antialias both checked. Starting at the back left
corner of your bench, draw out your rectangle the width of the back of your
bench
but not quite to the front edge of your bench:
Draw a second rectangle, below the first, as wide as the front
of your bench:
Click on your Object Selector Tool and choose Node Edit. Move your
nodes as follows:
This pad doesn't look like it gives much padding, so I adjusted both
rectangles to give the pad more "height":
Convert this layer to raster. Float your selection (Selections/Select All; Selections/Float). Add a cutout as follows:
Apply the cutout again, changing the Vertical and Horizontal offsets
to: -3. Deselect.
Save your image (Ctrl+S)
If you copy and save your copy in PSP format, you can open it at any time and change the decorations and the pad, since everything is on it's own layer.
If you're happy with the placement of all your layers, merge all visible
layers. Rename this layer bench and export as a picture tube for later
use.
If you'd like to fill your bench, as I did, you can do the following:
Add a new raster layer and name it toys1. Use your favorite picture
tubes or transparent images to fill up your bench. Add a new layer
for each new image so you can move them around as needed:
I hope you enjoyed creating your "Toy
Bench"!
And I hope you learned just a little more about
Paint Shop Pro!!!
Some of the "toys" I filled my bench with were
created
from the following tutorials:
