*** CREATING PAGE 1 ***

1. Add a new layer and move it below your "page 1" layer. Rename this layer "page 1 graphic". Right click on your "page 1" layer and choose View/Current Only.

TIP: Create the graphic for "Page 1" on a separate canvas 138 pixels wide and 195 pixels high, adding any text or message you'd like. Save this image as "page1_graphic.psp"...you will need this image if you decide to add additional pages to your book.

2. Use your magic wand to click inside the page. Expand your selection by 1. Switch to your "page 1 graphic" layer and copy and paste your graphic "into selection":

3. Turn off the visibility for your "page 1" and page 1 graphic" layers.

4. Add a new raster layer and name it "color". Move this layer beneath your "open book" layer.

5. Activate your "open book" layer and using your Magic Wand, click inside the left page.

6. Expand your selection by 1 pixel.

7. Make your "color" layer active and fill with the color you chose for flip3 and flip4.

8. Duplicate your "page 1 graphic" layer and move this copy below your "open book" layer.

9. Turn on the visibility for the "copy of page 1 graphic" layer and merge your visible layers ("open book"/"page 1"/"copy of page 1 graphic").

10. Rename this new layer "page 1 open":

11. Merge your "page 1" layer and your "page 1 graphic" layer.

12. Rename this layer "page 1" and duplicate it 3 times. Your Layer Palette properties box should look like this:

13. Move one of the copies you just made below your "cover flip1" layer. Merge these two layers and rename the merged layer "flip1":

14. Move one of the copies you just made below your "cover flip2" layer. Merge these two layers and rename the merged layer "flip2":

15. Move one of the copies you just made below your "cover flip3" layer. Merge these two layers and rename the merged layer "flip3":

16. Move one of the copies you just made below your "cover flip4" layer. Merge these two layers and rename the merged layer "flip4":

17. You should have 7 layers, from top to bottom, named:

                  page 1 open
                  flip 4
                  flip 3
                  flip 2
                  flip 1
                  closed book

Now you need to decide whether you're happy with a 1 page book or if you'd like to add more pages.
