*** PLACING MOUSE 1 ***

1. Add a new Raster layer and name it "mouse".

2. Click on your Picture Tube tool and set it to your mouse image; scaled to 40%.

3. Click on your canvas to place your mouse image.

4. Change to your Mover Tool and move your mouse to the far right of the image with his foot just touching the roof (you will lose some of your tail):

5. Maximize your "message1.psp" image and copy it (Ctrl+C).

6. Go back to your tag image and paste as a new layer. Rename this layer "greeting".

7. Reduce the opacity on this layer to 50% and place your greeting as shown below:

8. Click on your paintbrush tool and erase the portion of the greeting over your mouse's hands. (It helps to zoom in on your image while erasing.) Increase your opacity to 100%:

9. Go to the left edge of your greeting and erase the corners to give it a rounded effect:

10. Turn off the visibility for all but your "mouse" and "greeting" layers and merge these two layers. Rename this layer "greeting end" Turn on the visibility for all your layers (Layers/View/All).

  Save

 

*** PLACING MOUSE 2 ***

1. Add a new Raster layer and name it "mouse".

2. Click on your Picture Tube tool and set it to your mouse image; scaled to 40%.

3. Click on your canvas to place your mouse image.

4. Click Image/Mirror to turn make your mouse face the other direction.

5. Use your Mover Tool to place your second mouse as shown below:

6. Maximize your "message.psp" image; duplicate your image (Shift+D) and minimize the original.

7. Working with your copy, click on your Mover Tool and move the detail to the right as shown below:

8. Click on your Magic Wand Tool and click to the left of your detail.

9. Invert your selection (Selections/Invert).

10. Crop to selection (Image/Crop to Selection):

11. Copy your image (Ctrl+C).

12. Go back to your tag image and paste as a new layer. Rename this layer "greeting".

13. Reduce the opacity on this layer to 50% and place your greeting as shown below:

14. Click on your paintbrush tool and erase the portion of the greeting over your mouse's hands and arms - and don't forget to round off your corners on the left end. (It helps to zoom in on your image while erasing.) Increase your opacity to 100%:

15. Turn off the visibility for all but your "mouse" and "greeting" layers and merge these two layers. Rename this layer "greeting 2". Turn on the visibility for all your layers (Layers/View/All).

*** PLACING MOUSE 3 ***

By now you should have a pretty good idea what we're doing, so I'm not going to include as many screenshots for this section.

1. Add a new Raster layer and name it "mouse".

2. Click on your Picture Tube tool and set it to your mouse image; scaled to 40%.

3. Click on your canvas to place your mouse image.

4. Use your Mover Tool to place your third mouse as shown in the image at the end of this section.

5. Maximize your "message.psp" image; duplicate your image (Shift+D) and minimize the original.

6. Working with your copy, click on your Mover Tool and move the detail to the right as shown in the image at the end of this section.

7. Crop your image as we did before.

8. Copy your image (Ctrl+C).

9. Go back to your tag image and paste as a new layer. Rename this layer "greeting".

10. Reduce your opacity and erase as before (don't forget your corners).

11. Merge your "mouse" and "greeting" layers.

12. Rename this layer "greeting3". Turn on the visibility for all your layers (Layers/View/All).

  Save

 

*** PLACING MOUSE 4 ***

1. Add a new Raster layer and name it "mouse".

2. Click on your Picture Tube tool and set it to your mouse image; scaled to 40%.

3. Click on your canvas to place your mouse image.

4. Image/Mirror to flip your mouse in the other direction.

5. Use your Mover Tool to place your third mouse as shown in the image at the end of this section.

6. Maximize your "message.psp" image; duplicate your image (Shift+D) and minimize the original.

7. Working with your copy, click on your Mover Tool and move the detail to the right as shown in the image at the end of this section.

8. Crop your image as we did before.

9. Copy your image (Ctrl+C).

10. Go back to your tag image and paste as a new layer. Rename this layer "greeting".

11. Reduce your opacity and erase as before (don't forget your corners).

12. Merge your "mouse" and "greeting" layers.

13. Rename this layer "greeting4". Turn on the visibility for all your layers (Layers/View/All).
