I am using a graphic I created using my SinedotsII Seamless Background tutorial. You may use any graphic you'd like,
changing the colors accordingly.

This tutorial was written presuming that you have little knowledge of Paint Shop Pro, so it is a perfect tutorial for both newbies and experienced users.

The only filters used in this tutorial are those filters that come with Paint Shop Pro7; no additional plug ins. You may download a 30 day trial version of Paint Shop Pro at the Jasc web site.

I have used many screen shots, so these pages may take time to load - please be patient. I have split the tutorial into several pages, each covering a different graphic for your set.

Before you begin:

Create a folder on your hard drive where you will save all the images you create.

Choose the graphic you'd like to use. I am using the following graphic:

If you'd like to use the graphic I am using click here.  This is a PSP tube file, compatible with PSP5.  Unzip this file, open in Paint Shop Pro and export as a picture tube.  You can change the color, if you'd like, by clicking on Colors/Colorize and playing with the settings, before you export as a tube.

Choose two complimentary colors you'd like to use for your set; one light and one dark.
For my dark color I am using R: 245, G: 231, B: 238
For my light color I am using R: 166, G: 64, B: 113

TIP: Make yourself a color swatch for your set:
Make these colors your foreground and background colors.
Open a new image 100x50, transparent background, 16 mil colors.
Double click on your selection tool and enter the following:
Left: 0, Right: 50, Top: 0, Bottom: 50.
Flood fill the selected area with your foreground color.
Invert your selection. Selections/Invert.
Flood fill the selected area with your background color.
Save this to your new folder as "colors.jpg".  Now you have a color swatch for future reference.

MAKING YOUR BACKGROUND:

1. Open a new image 300x300, transparent background, 16 million colors.

2. Flood fill with the complimentary color you chose.

3. Click on Effects/Texture Effects/Texture and use the following settings:

4. Double click on your selection tool and enter the following settings:

5. Click on Selections/Convert to Seamless Pattern.  A new image will open.  Save this image as "backgound.jpg" to the folder you created for your graphics.

6. Minimize this image, as we will be using it to create all of our graphics for this set.
