MAKING YOUR TOP GRAPHIC:

1. Open a new image 650x400, transparent background, 16 million colors.

2. Flood fill with your background graphic. (On your styles buttons, click the little black arrow and choose the pattern option. When the pattern box opens, browse through the available graphics until you find the one named background.jpg and click on it.)

3. Click on your flood fill tool and fill your graphic with your background image.

4. Change your background color (bottom styles button) to null and your foreground color to a dark color that compliments your graphic. (I am using R:175, G: 84. B: 131)

5. Click on your preset shapes tool and choose Rounded Rectangle.  Check Antialias and Vector.  (Don't let the vectors scare you - this is really a quite simple vector object - no node editing!) Make your line width 15.

6. Starting at coordinates 30, 100 drag your rectangle out to coordinates 620, 380.  You should end up with this (screenshot is reduced by 50%):

7. If your rectangle is not the selected vector object click on your object selector tool and click on your rectangle.  You should now see box (similar to when you use the deformation tool) surrounding your rectangle.

8. Click on the bottom center square and drag the bottom of your rectangle down and off the canvas until you have nice rounded corners at the top.  (You will have to guess at this, but I dragged mine down until it looked like I had doubled the heights of my rectangle.) Your graphic should look like this (screenshot is reduced by 50%):

9. Convert your vector layer to raster. (Layers/Convert to Raster.)

10. Save your new image as "image1.psp" in the folder you created for these graphics.  (Once saved, you won't lose all the work you've done to this point.)

11. Duplicate your image. You can do this by holding down your Shift key and hitting the letter "D".  We will be working on the copy you just made.

12. If you'd like to apply an inner bevel to your rectangle, you can do that now.  (I did not add one for this set - saved myself another screenshot!)

13. With Layer2 active (your rectangle layer) apply a drop shadow as follows:

14. Merge your visible layers. (Layers/Merge Visible)

15. Double click on your crop tool and enter the following numbers: Left: 0, Right: 650, Top: 0, Bottom: 200.  Then click on Crop Image on your tool options window.

16. Save this image as "top.jpg".  Answer yes to any warning message you may get.  (As long as we don't close the image none of the warnings will apply.)  You will now have the graphic we will use to create our top graphic (screenshot is reduced by 50%):

17.  Add a new raster layer. (Layers/New Raster Layer)

18. We will use this layer to apply our graphic.

19. Click on your Picture Tube tool and browse to the tube you are using for your set.

20. Place your cursor at coordinates 325,100 and click to apply your tube. (If your graphic is too large or too small, click undo and change the size of your tube as needed.  If you are using the tube I provided, adjust your size to 90.)

21. I decided to add a couple of smaller graphics to my top image.  If you are happy with the look of your graphic you can skip the next step.

22.  Add a new raster layer and move the new layer below the layer you placed your first graphic on.  Reduce the size of your tube and place a couple of graphics to the left and right of your first (larger) graphic.  Here's what I ended up with (screenshot is reduced by 50%):

23. Your top graphic is done!  Save your graphic and close.

MAKING YOUR BOTTOM GRAPHIC:

1. Activate your Image1.psp graphic. Duplicate this image and minimize the original.

2. Click on Layer2 (your rectangle layer) and flip this image. (Image/Flip)

3. Add a drop shadow using the same settings you used on your top image.

4. Merge your visible layers. (Layers/Merge Visible)

5. Double click on your crop tool and enter the following settings: Left: 0, Right: 650, Top: 200, Bottom: 400.  Click on Crop Image on your tool options window.

6. Following the same steps you used for the top image, add your tubes/graphics, changing the size and location if desired.  Here's what I ended up with (screenshot is reduced by 50%):

7.  If you'd like to add the name of your web page to your bottom graphic (as I have done on this page) add another layer and type the name of your site, adding a drop shadow, if deisred.  Then merge all layers.

8. Save your image as "bottom.jpg".

MAKING YOUR SIDE GRAPHICS:

1. Activate your Image1.psp graphic. Duplicate this image and minimize the original.

2. Click on Layer2 (your rectangle layer) and add a drop shadow using the same settings you used on your top image.

3. Double click on your crop tool and enter the following settings: Left: 0, Right: 650, Top: 200, Bottom: 300.  Click on Crop Image on your tool options window. You should now have this (screenshot reduced by 50%):

4. Save this image as "middle.jpg".
